A collection of English cut lead crystal and decorative glassware including examples by Tutbury Crystal and Royal Doulton. The collection is primarily composed of lead crystal glassware featuring hand-cut diamond and fan patterns, accompanied by star-cut bases to the stems and tumblers. The lot comprises a large suite of stemware for wine, sherry, and liqueur, alongside a set of six matching heavy-based whisky tumblers. Table accessories include various bud vases in waisted and ovoid forms, three creamers with wheel-cut motifs, and an ice bucket with an ornate star and diamond pattern. The group also contains a set of six frosted glass dessert bowls with fluted rims, a lidded storage jar, and a heavy glass dish featuring an intaglio-moulded owl figure in the base. Several items bear circular blue and white adhesive labels reading TUTBURY CRYSTAL ENGLISH FULL LEAD. A red presentation box is printed with Royal HAND MADE IN ENGLAND SINCE 1770, and a blue presentation box for Tutbury Crystal is included.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good overall condition with no significant cloudiness or sick glass visible in the images. The rims of the drinking glasses and serving pieces appear largely intact with no major chips or cracks evident (photos 5, 6, and 7). The frosted finish on the fluted dessert bowls is a design feature and shows no irregular wear (photo 5). Occasional small adhesive labels are present on the exterior of some pieces (photo 2).
