A collection of ornithological prints including just pictures of various owl and bird subjects presented in wooden and composite style frames. The lot comprises three offset lithographs after Ann Hillman, featuring printed titles to the lower margin reading Barn Owl by Ann Hillman Limited Edition, Eagle Owl by Ann Hillman Limited Edition, and Little Owl by Ann Hillman Limited Edition. These are presented in matching light-coloured frames. A further ornithological study depicts two Blue Tits on blossom branches, bearing a signature to the lower left reading Peggy Stephens.
The group further includes two stylised owl prints, each with a signature in the plate reading Judy Rossow. A composite frame contains four smaller scenes including two prints pencil-signed to the lower margin Peter Hayman and numbered 84/1000 and 55/1000 respectively, indicating a limited edition run of one thousand. An additional print depicts a group of barn owl chicks in a tree hollow. The collection is executed on paper and mounted under glass within their respective frames.
Condition report:
Significant uniform paper toning and yellowing is visible across the three Ann Hillman prints (photos 2, 3, 4, 5). The mount within the Peter Hayman composite frame exhibits extensive foxing and liquid staining, particularly along the lower edge, with a torn adhesive remnant to the right-hand side (photo 8). The frames show minor surface dirt and light abrasions to the edges. Prominent reflections on the glass surfaces are a result of the photography environment.
