A limited edition Kevin Francis ceramic George V Toby jug produced by Peggy Davies Ceramics. This hand-painted polychrome glazed ceramic jug depicts King George V seated in Admiral of the Fleet naval uniform. The figure is represented holding a terrestrial globe with territories of the British Empire highlighted in red. The seat is draped with a Union Jack and is flanked by two lions, with the handle formed by a lion tail extending up the back of the figure. The piece belongs to the 20th Century Replica Series and is based on a design by Clarice Cliff.
The underside of the base bears a green and black printed backstamp which reads KEVIN KF FRANCIS, ESTABLISHED 1987, George V, 20th Century replica series, Modelled by Andy Moss, A LIMITED EDITION OF 250 WORLDWIDE, THIS IS NUMBER 28, Hand Made & Hand Painted in Staffordshire, England., and PRODUCED BY Peggy Davies CERAMICS. An incised mark resembling a cross is also present on the unglazed foot rim. The jug is accompanied by two certificates of authenticity from Kevin Francis and Peggy Davies Ceramics, which identify the piece as number 28 of a worldwide limited edition of 250 and note the design heritage of Clarice Cliff.

Condition report:
The jug is in excellent original condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration apparent in the photographs (photo 1, 4, 5). The polychrome glaze retains a high gloss finish across the uniform and globe. The interior appears clean and free of staining (photo 5). There is very minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot rim visible on the base (photo 2). The accompanying certificates show no significant creasing or damage (photo 3).
