A pair of two modern country style pine chests of drawers comprising a tall five-drawer chest and a matching three-drawer bedside chest. The pieces are constructed from solid pine drawer fronts and tops and chipboard sides with a honey-coloured finish and characteristic visible knots throughout. Both units are designed with moulded overhanging tops and drawer fronts with decorative edge detailing, all supported on shaped plinth bases. The larger chest is fitted with two turned pine mushroom-style knobs per drawer, while the bedside chest drawers feature a single central matching knob. No manufacturer markings or labels are visible on the exterior surfaces. This lot comprises the chests only; the ceramic items and other accessories shown on the top surface are not included.
Condition report:
The chests are in good overall condition with no visible structural faults to the joints or drawer runners. Shallow surface indentations and light scratches are present on the top surface of the tall chest (photo 3) and the bedside chest (photo 2). There is visible natural patination and darkening of the wood consistent with age (photo 1).
