This lot comprises a Neoclassical revival style white painted chest of three drawers and a matching three drawer bedside chest. The chests are constructed from a white painted composite material. Each drawer front is embellished with a recessed octagonal panel, further detailed with an inset gold-coloured line border. The drawers are fitted with circular, ribbed gold-tone metal knobs, with two knobs per wide drawer and one per narrow drawer. A small white adhesive label reading 1089 is present on the top front edge. No manufacturer or retailer marks are visible. This lot comprises the chests only; the decorative plates, glassware, and adjacent furniture shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The chest is in used condition with visible surface scuffs and minor marks to the white painted finish, particularly along the front edges and top surface (photo 1). Further scuffing is present to the paint on the front drawer surrounds and edges (photo 3). The gold-tone hardware appears to be original and remains intact.
