A collection of metal and brass fireplace accessories comprising a four-panel folding fire guard and a companion tool set. The fire screen is constructed with a black-painted metal frame featuring four arched-top panels with fine wire mesh inserts. The panels are connected by vertical hinges to allow for adjustable positioning. The brass companion set includes a circular-based stand with a ring-handled central stem, supporting four hanging tools: a shovel, tongs, a poker, and a brush, each finished with matching turned brass handles. A white adhesive label is present on the base of the stand, however, the handwritten characters are not legible.
Condition report:
The brass components show a natural aged patina and surface tarnishing throughout, with soot residue visible on the functional ends of the tools (photo 2). The screen exhibits minor scuffs and wear to the black finish along the frame edges and hinges (photo 1).
