A trio of ceramic figurines including a Royal Doulton porcelain figure, a Carlton Ware hand-painted pottery piece, and an Enesco character ornament. The Carlton Ware advertising figurine depicts a man in a red shirt pulling a cart containing a horse, set on a base reading ‘GUINNESS FOR STRENGTH’. The underside is stamped in black ‘Carlton Ware’, ‘Handpainted’, ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’, ‘TRADE MARK’. The Royal Doulton figurine, titled ‘Autumn Breezes’, portrays a lady in a red dress with a blue scarf. The base features a green printed backstamp with a lion, crown, and four interlocking ‘D’ characters, alongside the title and registration number ‘Rd No 835666’, with the hand-inscribed model number ‘HN1934’. The third figure depicts the cat Garfield on a plinth marked ‘SCORPIO’, with a base stamp reading ‘GARFIELD’, ‘© 1978, 1981 UNITED FEATURE SYNDICATE, INC.’, and ‘ENESCO’, accompanied by a gold foil adhesive sticker.
Condition report:
Significant and visible crazing is present throughout the glaze of the Carlton Ware figurine, most notably on the white base (photo 3). The Royal Doulton figurine appears to be in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration (photos 4, 5). The Enesco figurine also shows no visible faults (photos 6, 7).
