A trio of three Staffordshire style polychrome glazed ceramic figurines depicting male figures in 18th-century attire. The lot comprises a standing figure of Admiral Lord Nelson in a blue naval coat with yellow epaulettes and a floral yellow waistcoat, a standing figure holding a pipe and pitcher, and a seated figure in a blue coat and tricorn hat holding a mug. The Nelson figure features a yellow rectangular plaque on the base inscribed in black cursive script Nelson. The second standing figure features a white banner-shaped plaque on the base inscribed in black cursive script Hearty good Fellow. Each figure is finished with a polychrome glaze and sits upon a base decorated as a grassy mound. No manufacturer backstamps, decorator marks, or signatures are visible on the exterior of the pieces.
Condition report:
The figurines show no visible chips, cracks, or restorations to the protruding elements, such as the pipe, pitcher spout, or hat rims (photo 1).
