A Japanese Ryūhō porcelain Imari style charger featuring a scalloped foliate rim and a traditional palette of underglaze blue, iron-red enamels, and gilding, with additional accents of green and ochre. The central circular medallion is decorated with a dense arrangement of chrysanthemums and scrolling foliage. The wide border is divided into alternating panels, some containing stylised floral blossoms and others with scrolling foliate motifs set against a vibrant iron-red ground. The reverse of the charger bears a four-character mark in underglaze blue, arranged in two vertical columns. The right column reads 京焼 and the left column reads 龍峰, identifying the piece as Kyoto-style ware produced by the Ryūhō kiln. A white adhesive inventory sticker is present on the front face, reading Shobrook & Co 391 Plymouth.

Condition report:

The charger is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or professional repairs to the scalloped rim or body (photo 1). The overglaze enamels and gilding are bright and well-preserved, showing no significant signs of wear or loss (photo 1). The unglazed foot ring exhibits minor shelf wear and surface discolouration consistent with age and handling (photo 2).
