An Anglepoise style cream painted and brass toned metal desk lamp. This lot comprises a single adjustable desk lamp featuring a spring-balanced mechanism. The unit is constructed with a multi-jointed metal arm finished in cream-coloured paint, mounted to a weighted rectangular base with a brass-toned finish. The arm supports a conical metal shade of matching cream colour, which is fitted with a white plastic push-button switch at the top. The lamp is wired with a two-core white plastic cable and currently holds a compact fluorescent bulb. A small rectangular white adhesive label with blue text is applied to the outer rim of the shade, but the characters are not legible as a name. No other marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the base or arm assembly. This lot comprises the lamp only; the papers, furniture, and other interior items shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The lamp shows significant signs of age and use. Heavy surface corrosion and rust are present, particularly along the parallel bars of the lower arm assembly (photo 1 and 3). The cream paint exhibits numerous losses, scratches, and scuffs throughout the shade and arm (photo 1 and 2). The brass-toned base shows surface staining, tarnishing, and light scratches (photo 1 and 3). The entire unit, especially the top of the shade and the springs, has an accumulation of dust and grime (photo 1 and 2). The white plastic joint covers and switch appear intact but aged. This vintage electrical item is sold as a collector\'s item only and must be inspected and PAT tested by a qualified electrician before being connected to a mains supply.
