A collection of vintage costume jewellery, British coins and a Cadbury’s biscuit tin. The lot comprises an assortment of mid-century style rhinestone brooches, faux pearl necklaces, various chains, and accessories. The rectangular tinplate container features a purple ground decorated with nostalgic advertising illustrations; the lid and sides bear the text CADBURY’S BISCUITS and CHOCOLATE COVERED BISCUITS FROM Cadbury. The jewellery selection includes a domed circular brooch set with multi-faceted emerald green and aurora borealis navette-cut stones, a gold-tone sunburst brooch with orange and amber coloured stones, and a silver-tone floral spray brooch with light blue and magenta stones. Further pieces include a gold-tone openwork floral brooch with clear rhinestones, a feather style brooch with a single central faux pearl, and a rectangular enamel brooch featuring a marbled pink, white, and blue design on a copper-coloured base. The lot also contains a triple-strand faux pearl necklace with a decorative metal clasp, a graduated single strand of smaller faux pearls, a heavy bronze-tone curb link chain, a pair of oval silver-tone cufflinks, and several pairs of clip-on and drop earrings featuring faux pearl and rhinestone details. Included is a rectangular promotional lighter with the Embassy Number 1 Extra Mild branding in blue and white. The coins comprise a quantity of British currency including pre-decimal pennies and later decimal coins, with one example marked ELIZABETH II D·G·REG·F·D·1992. The tin bears a printed adhesive label reading Shobrook and Co 443 Plymouth and an internal white label marked R1102G.
Condition report:
The items are in used vintage condition. The Cadbury\'s biscuit tin shows surface scratches, minor indentations, and age-related wear to the printed finish (photo 2). The silver-tone floral spray brooch is missing at least one magenta-coloured stone (photo 4). Surface oxidation, tarnish, and wear to the plating are visible on several base metal chains, earring backs, and the cufflinks (photo 1). The Embassy lighter shows surface wear and its functionality is untested (photo 5). The coins exhibit typical circulation wear and varying degrees of toning (photo 1).
