A collection of assorted plated base metal ladies’ fashion wristwatches including examples by Oris, Casio and Gucci style. The group features a diverse range of styles, including formal dress watches, casual fashion pieces and character-themed designs. The cases are constructed from base metal with silver-tone, gold-tone and rose-gold-tone plating. Straps are varied, featuring stainless steel link bracelets, mesh bands, rigid bangles and leather or imitation leather straps in various colours including white, pink, red and black.
One small circular silver-tone watch is marked to the dial with printed characters ORIS. A rectangular silver-tone watch bears a white dial marked with the printed name CASIO. A round silver-tone watch with a white dial is marked with the printed name GUCCI, though authenticity is not confirmed. One silver-tone bangle-style watch with a square dial bears the printed mark ALESSANDRO. A round silver-tone watch features a printed character dial depicting Anna and Olaf from the film Frozen. A watch with a black leather strap is marked with the partially legible printed characters ZEON. The lot is accompanied by a printed card tag reading Shobrook & Co, 452 Plymouth. The watches are fitted with quartz movements and are sold as untested.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of wear throughout, with the overall condition ranging from fair to good. Surface scratching is visible to the crystals and cases across the group, with noticeable plating loss present on several items (photo 1). A rectangular Casio watch exhibits severe internal corrosion and staining to the white dial (photo 2). The leather and synthetic straps show varying degrees of creasing, surface wear and discolouration consistent with use. Functionality has not been tested and batteries likely require replacement across the collection.
