This auction ended on September 2, 2026.

Start price: £10

Estimated price: £10 - £20

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £12

This lot comprises a modern target style hardwood recurve crossbow with a thumbhole stock. The item features a single-piece metal recurve limb, likely of aluminium alloy or spring steel, which is secured to a precision-machined metal rail. The stock is constructed from a polished hardwood, such as walnut or mahogany, and is designed with an ergonomic thumbhole grip, contoured handle, and an integrated cheek rest. A metal foot stirrup for cocking is attached to the fore-end. The trigger assembly is enclosed in a steel housing. The weapon includes mounting points on the upper rail and trigger housing for target sights, which are not present. No manufacturer marks, signatures, or serial numbers are legible on the stock or metalwork. This lot comprises the crossbow only; the bowstring is provided but is detached.

Condition report:

The bowstring is detached and shows significant fraying and structural wear across its length (photos 1, 2, 3, and 4). The hardwood stock displays general surface wear, including various scuffs and scratches to the finish (photos 1, 2, and 4). There is a distinct white mark or residue on the side of the stock adjacent to the trigger area (photo 2). The metal rail and limb show evidence of surface oxidation and light pitting consistent with age (photos 3 and 4). The item is missing its original front and rear target sights (photos 1, 3, and 4). The mechanical functionality of the trigger has not been tested.
