This lot comprises two commemorative medals celebrating the Accession and Coronation of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, housed in a four-slot wooden presentation case. The medals are constructed from gold-plated base metal and are each protected within circular acrylic capsules. Both pieces exhibit a proof-like finish featuring frosted decorative elements set against polished mirrored fields. The first medal commemorates the 1952 Accession, featuring a portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II against a Gothic tracery background. The second medal marks the 1953 Coronation, depicting the monarch in ceremonial robes within Westminster Abbey. The reverse of both medals displays the Royal Coat of Arms of the UK with a distinctive border design incorporating a musical staff with transcribed notation and lyrics from the national anthem. The wooden case features a blue velvet-lined interior with two vacant circular recesses. A white adhesive lot sticker on the exterior lid is transcribed as 400 Plymouth and a small blue-bordered tag inside is transcribed as P1289M. No maker marks are legible on the medals or packaging.

Condition report:

The medals are in uncirculated condition with no visible handling marks, fingerprints, or surface toning (photos 2-5). The protective acrylic capsules show minor superficial scuffing (photo 1). The wooden presentation case is in good condition, although two of the four internal slots are empty as shown in the primary photograph.
