This lot comprises a contemporary Bev Smith mixed media and acrylic painting on canvas of a Dubai coastline. The work is executed on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas using acrylic paint and collage elements, possibly crumpled paper or fabric, to create a high-relief textured effect representing crashing waves along the shore. The composition features a pale blue sky above a distant horizon line that is punctuated by a series of minimalist gate-like structures. The lower right corner bears the painted signature Bev Smith ’06 and is inscribed ~Dubai~. This lot comprises the canvas only; the wooden easel shown in the photographs is not included.
Condition report:
The visible surface irregularities and heavy texture are intentional design features of the mixed media construction. Three small black dots are visible on the textured paint surface directly above the artist signature (photo 2). No significant paint loss or structural damage to the canvas is evident from the provided photographs.
