This lot comprises five Heirloom Coin Collections 24-carat gold-plated copper Princess Diana commemorative medals. Each medal is constructed with a 24-carat gold-plated finish over a copper core, featuring a proof-like surface quality. The obverse of each piece displays a heraldic design showing the rose, thistle, shamrock, and leek emblems of the four home nations surrounding three central shields representing England, Scotland, and Ireland. The rim bears the Latin inscription ‘REGNUM UNITUM MAGNAE BRITANNIAE ET HIBERNIAE SEPTENTRIONALIS’. The reverse of each medal is decorated with a unique full-colour photographic portrait of Princess Diana from various years including 1983, 1989, 1994, 1996, and 1997. These portraits are framed by a gold-toned border inscribed ‘IN MEMORY OF DIANA’, ‘1961’, ‘1997’, ‘PRINCESS OF WALES’, and ‘QUEEN OF HEARTS’. The set is presented in its original black faux-leather presentation case with a white satin-style interior lid bearing the gold ‘HEIRLOOM COIN COLLECTIONS’ logo. The lot is accompanied by a technical specification sheet signed by Managing Director ‘Jason M. Leavesley’ and a matching Certificate of Authenticity stating an edition limit of 2,017.

Condition report:

The medals appear in uncirculated, proof-like condition and are each housed in protective clear plastic capsules (photos 1, 3, and 4). There are no visible signs of wear, scratches, or tarnishing to the gold-plated surfaces. The presentation case shows no visible damage to the exterior or interior lining (photos 5 and 6). The included documentation is in clean condition with no visible tears or markings (photos 2 and 7).
