This lot comprises three framed hand-coloured botanical engravings. The prints are presented in professional gallery framing with French matting featuring marbled paper borders, hand-ruled green lines, and gold-tone fillets. One engraving features a large Strelitzia Regina, or Bird of Paradise, alongside a Sempervivum Arachnoideum, or Cobweb Houseleek. This plate is printed with the text Painted by Syd. Edwards, London Published Augst 1. 1806 by G. Kearsley Fleet Street, and Engraved by F. Sanfom. The upper left corner is marked Pl. 53 and the lower right bears the numerals 556-8. A second large-scale engraving depicts a succulent identified in the lower margin as Aloe Aethiopica foliis oblongis Crassis et compressis, followed by the Italian Ital. Aloe magiore Spinosa and French Gall. Aloës. This plate includes the corner notations T. VI. and Tab. 11. The third engraving illustrates various spring-flowering bulbs, including Scilla Alba, Crocus Vernus, and Hepatica Aurea, each identified by Roman numerals and calligraphic Latin labels. All three prints are housed in matching gilded wooden frames.

Condition report:

The prints and frames are in good overall condition. A small foxing spot is visible in the lower margin of the Sydenham Edwards plate (photo 3). The botanical bulb print exhibits light, even toning consistent with age (photo 8). The gilded frames show minor superficial wear and light scuffing to the edges (photo 1). No cracks to the glass or tears to the paper are visible.
