A collection of vintage metalware and vanity items including silver-plated and brass examples. The lot features a silver-plated vanity set comprising an oval tray and two lidded, footed bowls presented in a purple velvet-lined case. Also included is a vintage Gillette safety razor set housed in a brown moulded plastic case, the interior lid embossed with a diamond-shaped logo containing the letters G, i, l, l, e, t, t, e and the text MADE IN ENGLAND. A second razor kit is present in a fitted wooden case with an integrated interior mirror and gold-tone components. Decorative pieces include a tall turned brass candlestick, a pair of figural brass ornaments depicting men beside street lamps, and a square brass box with dense foliate scrollwork resting on a separate four-legged stand. Further items include silver-plated serving tongs, a bud vase, a small wooden box, and a cased set of teaspoons with a small cup.
Condition report:
There is visible verdigris oxidation to the four-legged brass stand (photo 3). The metal items exhibit varying degrees of surface tarnish and oxidation throughout. The presentation cases show age-related wear, including scuffing to the exterior surfaces and staining and fraying to the interior fabric linings (photo 2). The cardboard box for the flatware exhibits structural wear and tearing to the corners (photo 3).
