A collection of sixteen miniature novelty and mantel clocks in a variety of styles and materials. The assortment features gold-toned metal and porcelain cases in diverse forms, including a British red telephone box embossed with TELEPHONE, a vintage candlestick telephone, a tractor, a lyre, a globe, and a street lamp post with an applied sign reading PARK LANE. The group contains several mantel-style clocks, notably an arched dark blue porcelain example with gilt scrollwork and classical motifs, the dial marked WEDGWOOD above MADE IN ENGLAND. Another arched porcelain clock with cream floral decoration bears the dial mark Collectors. Each piece is fitted with a small quartz movement and features a circular dial with either Roman or Arabic numerals. Most cases are constructed from gold-plated base metal with polished or brushed finishes. A white porcelain mantel clock with floral decoration features a dial marked with Roman numerals.
Condition report:
The items are in overall good condition, showing light surface wear and minor tarnishing consistent with age and display. One small gold-toned alarm clock style appears to be missing a rear support or stand, causing it to sit at an angle (photo 1). Some dust is present in recessed areas. The movements have not been tested for timekeeping accuracy or functionality and may require battery replacements.
