Sold for: £20
A collection of decorative items including Black Forest style hand-carved woodwork and various ceramic wares. The lot features a hand-carved wall plaque depicting a stag head mount surrounded by a relief border of oak leaves and acorns, with a smaller secondary deer head motif to the lower shield. Also included are a pair of carved wooden spoons with heart-shaped cutouts and a circular wooden tray with a central sunflower design. The ceramic component includes a group of white porcelain teacups and saucers decorated with a gilt Greek key border, a tall mottled brown stoneware vase, and a smaller studio pottery vase featuring sgraffito leaf decoration. Further ceramic items comprise a brown glazed coffee pot with geometric banding, a white teapot with a grey leaf motif, a tan pitcher with a dark bird design, and a terracotta bowl with a woven rim. The collection is completed by a framed ceramic tile depicting a floral vase, a modern lithographed pop-art tin, a clear glass bowl, and a blue glazed jug. Marks are present on the undersides of several ceramic pieces, including the Greek key patterned teacups, but these are not clearly legible in the provided images.
Condition report:
The collection generally appears to be in good used condition. The hand-carved woodwork shows surface dust and minor wear consistent with age and display. The ceramic and glass items appear largely intact, though some pieces show light surface scratching and minor wear to the gilding on the teacups. The framed tile and pop-art tin show minor signs of age-related surface wear. No significant chips, cracks, or professional repairs were observed during inspection.
