Four late twentieth century table lamps including Japanese style porcelain and polished brass examples. The lot comprises two decorative porcelain jar lamps and a pair of fluted brass column lamps. The first ceramic lamp features a porcelain ginger-jar style body decorated in the Japanese Kutani style with peonies and chrysanthemums in orange and brown tones, finished with gilt moriage detailing and mounted on a turned dark-stained wooden base. The second porcelain lamp has an ovoid body depicting panels of irises and hummingbirds in an orange and yellow palette, flanked by iron-red geometric diaper patterns and set on a dark wooden base. A pair of Neoclassical style polished brass fluted column lamps with a tiered circular feet . All four lamps are fitted with brass bayonet light sockets and gold-coloured electrical flex terminated with white UK three-pin plugs. No manufacturer’s marks or labels are visible to the exterior of the ceramic bodies or the brass bases. This lot comprises the lamps only; the framed artwork and background items shown in the images are not included.

Condition report:

The porcelain bodies of the ceramic lamps appear to be in good physical condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. There is minor surface rubbing and light wear to the gilt decoration across both pieces. The brass column lamp shows visible surface tarnish and oxidation, particularly towards the tiered base (photo 2). All electrical components are modern but remain untested for safety; professional inspection is recommended before use.
