A pair of two hand-painted bone china figurines from the Coalport Characters series, based on the illustrations of Raymond Briggs for his book Father Christmas, including original green presentation cases. The first figurine, titled All Home-Made (model FC01), depicts Father Christmas alongside a snowman in a polka-dot apron holding a tray of mince pies and a glass of beer. The figurine is marked to the underside with printed black text reading FIRST EDITION, FATHER CHRISTMAS, ALL HOME-MADE, COALPORT, Characters, FC01, Hand Painted Bone China, and RB/BP Ltd 2004. The snowman retains a circular cardboard retail tag depicting the Father Christmas character. The second figurine, titled My Best Friends (model FC04), features Father Christmas leaning forward to greet a black cat and a black and white dog. Its base bears printed marks for FATHER CHRISTMAS, MY BEST FRIENDS, COALPORT, Characters, FC04, Hand Painted Bone China, and RB/BP Ltd 2004. Both boxes carry white adhesive labels marked MADE IN THAILAND.
Condition report:
Both figurines are in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations (photos 1, 2, 6, and 9). The hand-painted decoration is bright and intact throughout. The original presentation boxes are present and in good order, showing only minor shelf wear and light creasing to the corners (photo 3).
