A mid-century modern style wooden sewing table with an assortment of sewing notions. The table is constructed from wood with a warm, polished finish and stands on four splayed, tapered legs. The design features a dual-lidded top with two hinged sections that open outwards via integrated wooden handles to reveal divided upper storage compartments. The corners of the table body and the single lower drawer exhibit visible box joinery. The drawer is fitted with a single round black knob. The interior contains a collection of sewing accessories, including various thread spools, fabric remnants, and scissors. A small cardboard box for dressmaker’s pins is included, bearing the printed name ‘DORCAS’. A fabric pin cushion is also attached to the exterior drawer knob. This lot comprises the sewing table and interior notions only; the background items and wheeled platform shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
Surface scratches and light surface marks are visible on the top of the lids (photo 1). There is minor scuffing to the edges of the lids and wear to the finish on the integrated wooden handles (photo 2). The exterior shows general wear consistent with age and domestic use, including light abrasions to the drawer front and legs (photo 3). The interior compartments appear in good order with some light dust and loose threads present (photo 5).
