A collection of vintage metal, stone, and plastic table and pocket lighters, including examples by Starlon and D.L.I. Flamingo. This assortment comprises novelty items such as a red apple shaped lighter, a red Dutch clog style lighter, and a textured metal cube lighter decorated with green heart and diamond motifs. The group further includes a cylindrical white stone or marble style table lighter, several chrome plated pedestal lighters, and a blue plastic cased cube lighter. A long rectangular silver tone gas lighter is marked with the script name Starlon on its side. One lighter is housed in its original textured card box, which bears a red circular adhesive label featuring a bird motif and reading D.L.I. FLAMINGO, alongside a circular gold tone label to the lid reading Flamingo. The items are constructed from various materials including chrome plated metal, brass, stone, and plastic. This lot comprises the lighters and the box only; the ceramic bowls and other background shelf items shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The collection shows varying degrees of age related wear across all pieces. The red Dutch clog style lighter exhibits significant finish loss and surface wear (photo 1, 2, 5). The textured cube lighter with heart motifs shows visible tarnishing and pitting to the metal finish (photo 1, 2). The chrome plated pedestal lighters demonstrate surface oxidation, scratching, and pitting (photo 1, 3). The blue plastic cased lighter has several surface scuffs and scratches (photo 1, 5). All items remain untested for working condition and are sold as decorative pieces. No visible cracks are noted to the stone style table lighter (photo 1, 4).
