A contemporary country pine style five drawer chest of drawers, constructed primarily from solid pine with visible grain and natural knots. The chest features five full-width, graduated drawers, each equipped with a pair of matching turned wooden pine knobs. The top of the unit has a rounded edge detail, and the whole piece stands on small turned wooden bun feet. Secondary materials include plywood, which has been utilised for the drawer bottoms and a two-piece back panel secured with a plastic H-strip. The drawer construction is modern, featuring glued and stapled joints rather than traditional dovetails. No manufacturer markings, stamps, or retail labels were identified during inspection of the interior or exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The item is in good, used domestic condition. The pine surfaces show light wear consistent with age, including minor surface scratches and faint indentations, particularly on the top surface (photo 4 and photo 7). The drawers appear to be in functional working order (photo 5 and photo 6). Natural knots are present throughout the wood as a characteristic of the material. The plywood back and drawer bottoms are intact and secure (photo 8).
