A traditional style pine chest of drawers featuring a two over three drawer configuration. The unit is constructed from solid pine with a honey-toned stained finish, featuring a rectangular top with rounded edges. The storage arrangement consists of two short drawers positioned above three full-width graduated drawers, all supported by four turned bun feet. The drawers are built using machine-cut joints and secondary plywood for the bottoms and internal supports. Each drawer front is fitted with two matching turned wooden bun-style knobs. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels were identified on the item. This lot comprises the chest of drawers only; the surrounding household items and furniture shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The chest shows signs of regular use consistent with age. The top surface displays numerous scattered surface scratches, minor indentations, and light finish wear (Photos 4 and 7). The interior of the drawers contains staining, most notably a large dark circular liquid stain in the centre of the top-right drawer (Photo 6) and lighter scattered marks in the other drawers (Photo 5). Minor scuffs and small dings are present along the base moulding and corner edges (Photos 1 and 2). The drawers are confirmed to operate smoothly on their runners.
