This lot comprises a Laura Ashley Conway armchair upholstered in dark mahogany-coloured distressed cattle hide leather. The chair features a traditional high-back design with a scrolled top rail and matching scrolled arms flanking a deep fixed seat cushion. It is raised on four dark-stained wooden legs, the front pair being tapered and square in section, while the rear legs are of a curved saber profile. The underside retains several original manufacturer labels including a small fabric tag reading LAURA ASHLEY HOME and a larger information tag with the handwritten Product ID CONWAY CHR and Batch/ID No 41243. The tag includes a production grid with handwritten initials JAB for cut, Carl for upholstery, and CP for final inspection. A further label states the upholstery is 100% cattle hide leather and confirms the piece was Made in the U.K. and Fabriqué au Royaume-Uni with reference HF10/372.
Condition report:
The leather upholstery features an intentional distressed finish. Creasing and surface scuffing consistent with use are visible on the seat and armrests (photos 1 and 4). Light surface scratching is present on the top rail (photo 5). The dark-stained wooden legs show minor surface wear and scuffs consistent with age and contact with the floor (photo 2). No structural defects or tears are visible.
