A collection of five London 2012 Olympic commemorative The Royal Mint cupro-nickel £5 coins in presentation folders. This lot comprises three examples from the Countdown to London 2012 series, dated 2011, and two celebratory London 2012 coins. The Countdown coins feature a reverse design depicting a stylised cyclist against a clock face background with the legend COUNTDOWN 2011 XXX OLYMPIAD. The celebratory coins show a central reverse design of the London skyline, including landmarks such as the London Eye and Big Ben, encircled by sport pictograms. Each coin is held in brilliant uncirculated condition behind a protective clear plastic blister within its original black cardboard folder. The presentation folders are printed with the coat of arms for The Royal Mint and identifying text for The UK 2011 £5 Coin and The Olympic £5 Coin celebrating London 2012. One card remains within a clear plastic outer sleeve featuring a black and gold adhesive label reading The Royal Mint.

Condition report:

The coins appear to be in brilliant uncirculated condition, retaining full mint lustre and showing no visible signs of circulation or cleaning while protected within their original packaging (photo 1). The cardboard presentation folders exhibit minor softening to the corners and edges consistent with shelf wear (photo 1, 2, 4). The clear plastic outer sleeve for one folder shows light surface wrinkling (photo 4).
