A collection of coins and commemorative tokens including novelty examples in a display case. The group comprises various UK legal tender and novelty pieces. Included is a cupronickel sixpence dated 1967 featuring the crowned Tudor rose and floral emblems, inscribed FID DEF SIX PENCE. A round base-metal one pound coin features the shield of the Royal Arms. The items are housed in a black velvet-lined case with individual circular capsules.

The collection contains two heptagonal gold-coloured novelty tokens, one inscribed I SURVIVED 2020 with a plague doctor motif and another inscribed COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS with a viral structure design. Also present is a heavily worn and oxidised copper-alloy coin depicting a laureate bust profile in the Roman style, a silver-coloured medal featuring a Gothic cathedral tower, and a small silver-coloured coin with a drilled suspension hole. A miniature gold-coloured coin with an avian motif is included alongside a small copper-coloured coin contained within a corked glass vial.

Condition report:

The condition across the collection varies significantly. The older copper-alloy coin shows heavy wear and surface oxidation (photo 2). The 1967 sixpence and one pound coin display typical circulation wear and surface dulling (photo 1). A small silver-coloured coin has a deliberate drilled hole through the flan (photo 3). The novelty gold-coloured tokens appear in uncirculated condition with a polished, brilliant finish (photo 3). The glass vial is intact with its cork stopper (photo 1).
