A trio of three UK 2003 to 2005 Royal Mint proof coin sets in presentation cases. This lot comprises three annual proof sets housed in padded leatherette style cases with protective acrylic inserts. The 2003 set is presented in a maroon case with gold toned lettering, while the 2004 and 2005 sets are in navy blue cases with silver toned lettering. Each case lid features a stylised year date and a crest above the printed words ROYAL MINT. The coins exhibit a proof finish with mirrored fields and frosted devices. Commemorative pieces include the 2003 Coronation Jubilee Five Pounds crown and DNA Double Helix Two Pounds; the 2004 Trevithick Two Pounds and Roger Bannister fifty pence; and the 2005 Nelson and Trafalgar Five Pounds crowns, Gunpowder Plot Two Pounds, and Samuel Johnson Dictionary fifty pence. Two outer white cardboard sleeves are present, one bearing a printed label D03 and another reading D05 08.11.04.


Condition report:

The coins and presentation cases are in excellent condition with no visible faults. The coins show high lustre and sharp frosted relief through the protective acrylic holders (photos 2-4). The leatherette style cases are structurally sound with no scuffing or interior wear visible (photo 1). The two outer cardboard sleeves show light surface marking and minor edge wear consistent with age and storage.
