This lot comprises two royal commemorative stamp albums containing a variety of Commonwealth postal issues. The collection is housed in two red ring binders, one of which features gold-embossed decoration with the Royal Arms and the text Royal Events. The contents primarily commemorate two major events: the 1981 Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, and the 1986 60th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The collection incorporates individual stamps, souvenir sheets, gutter pairs, and a stamp booklet from diverse territories including the Cook Islands, Gibraltar, Lesotho, Penrhyn, Tonga, and Tristan Da Cunha. Technical specifications printed on the illustrated pages identify various designers and printers such as Walsall Security Printers, the House of Questa, and Heraclio Fournier. Watermarks are noted on several pages, including CA Spiral Script and Diagonal CA. One issue from Tonga features a black surcharge reading Tonga Cyclone Relief. The stamps and sheets are presented in protective mounts within the illustrated leaves.
Condition report:
The binders exhibit minor exterior wear and a patch of white residue on the front cover of the Royal Events album (photo 1). The illustrated internal pages show light toning and browning towards the outer edges (photos 3, 4, and 8). The philatelic material appears to be in mint, unused condition and remains securely housed within mounts. No visible creases, tears, or staining are evident on the stamps, souvenir sheets, or the stamp booklet.
