A trio of 20th century wall mirrors featuring varying decorative styles. The collection includes a large rectangular mirror in a Rococo revival style ornate molded frame with a gold-gilt finish, decorated with high-relief scrolling foliage, floral motifs, and acanthus leaves finished with an inner beaded border. A second large rectangular mirror is designed in a Venetian style with a frame constructed from multiple sections of beveled mirror glass, featuring a double-banded border and square corner medallions. The third item is an octagonal wall mirror with a composite frame in a silver-gilt wash finish, featuring an inset border decorated with a faint floral pattern in pastel blue and pink. The reverse of the octagonal mirror carries a white rectangular adhesive label which reads 21723, SILVER W/ P. BLUE FLORAL, 30 DIAMOND MIRROR. This lot comprises the three mirrors only; the plant, wheeled cart, and other workshop items shown in the background are not included.
Condition report:
The ornate gilt mirror shows several prominent vertical cracks and hairline fractures to the molded frame, particularly along the lower edge (photo 5). The octagonal mirror has three non-original gold adhesive stickers, comprising one heart and two stars, attached to the upper edge of the frame (photo 2). The glass-bordered mirror shows no visible chips or silvering degradation (photo 3). All three mirror plates appear clear with no significant foxing or silvering loss visible in the primary images (photo 1).
