This lot comprises a set of eight contemporary faux leather dining chairs and a glass topped pedestal dining table. The chairs are upholstered in a black smooth material, featuring a scrolled top rail and a decorative border of brass-toned nailhead studding to the lower edge of the seat. Each chair is supported on four legs with a dark mahogany-toned wood finish, with square-sectioned tapered front legs and flared rear legs. The accompanying glass top table features a clear rectangular top with bevelled edges and octagonal corners. The top is supported by a pedestal base consisting of textured metal scrollwork with a bronze and gilt finish, which is mounted on a three-tier stepped base of cream-coloured polished stone, possibly marble or travertine. No maker’s marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the furniture.
Condition report:
The dining suite is in good used condition. The glass table top shows some surface dust and smudging (photo 1). The stepped stone pedestal base exhibits minor wear to the edges consistent with its weight and material (photo 3). The chairs appear well-maintained, with the upholstery showing no visible tears or cracking (photo 4). There are minor surface scuffs to the wooden legs from domestic use (photo 1).
