Estimated price: £10 - £20

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £40

A collection of sterling silver and white metal rings in various styles including traditional, contemporary, and openwork designs. The group includes a wide band featuring concentric horizontal ridges, a polished band with a central recessed groove, and a band decorated with triangular geometric motifs set with small marcasites or similar grey stones. Further items include an openwork braided band, a stylised knot ring, and a band featuring wave-like cut-outs. A wide, thick-walled band with a matte textured finish is set with three square-cut clear stones, possibly cubic zirconia or white sapphires. The collection also comprises a ring formed of three wire strands joined by a keeper bar and a single stone band where the setting is currently empty. Most pieces are stamped with the fineness mark 925 to the interior, indicating sterling silver composition. The wide textured band features a hallmark strip including a 925 mark and the number 4, alongside two further impressed marks that are not legible as specific names.

Condition report:

The rings are in fair to good condition, exhibiting surface wear and significant tarnish consistent with age and use. Multiple pieces show surface scratches and minor indentations (photo 1). The central setting on one plain grooved band is missing its stone (photo 5). Significant oxidation and darkening of the metal are visible in the recessed areas of the patterned bands, particularly the braided and geometric designs (photos 10 and 12).
