A trio of furniture items comprising a mid-century style armchair and two mahogany side tables. The armchair is constructed from bamboo and rattan poles with split cane bindings, featuring a radiating spoke design to the backrest and a square tufted cream-coloured fabric seat cushion. The first side table is a contemporary mahogany design with a square top and a single frieze drawer fitted with a cylindrical metal pull, supported by four fluted and curved out-swept legs. The third item is a mahogany demilune console table featuring a semicircular top above a single drawer with a patinated metal ring pull, raised on four tapered square-section legs with a conforming lower shelf. This table bears a rectangular metal plaque on the lower shelf reading ANCIENT MARINER flanking a central graphic. The other two items in the lot bear no visible manufacturer marks. This lot comprises the furniture only; the background items including the shelving, electrical equipment, and framed artwork shown in the images are not included.
Condition report:
The rattan armchair frame is structurally sound but displays minor fraying and lifting to the cane lashings in several locations (photo 1, 9, 10). The fabric seat cushion is heavily soiled with visible staining and spotting (photo 1, 6). The square mahogany pedestal table shows light scratches and scuffs to the top surface and wear to the finish along the edges and corners (photo 2, 3, 4). The Ancient Mariner demilune table exhibits significant scratching, fading, and circular ring marks to the top surface (photo 1, 7). General light wear and minor scuffing are present on the legs and the edges of the lower shelf (photo 7, 8).
