A collection of vintage equestrian and travel accessories including Clark’s horse clippers and James Allan shoe trees, housed within a large metal travel trunk. The lot is contained within a rectangular black-painted metal trunk featuring iron hardware and a central hasp, with an interior lined in coarse fabric. Equestrian articles comprise two riding crops, one with a carved antler or bone handle and metal ferrules, and a boxed set of Clark’s Patent Horse Clipper No. 1. The blue and yellow cardboard packaging for the clippers is printed with MADE IN ENGLAND and lists prize medals from Paris 1878 to Paris 1889. Attire includes two black felt hats, one bowler style and another featuring a red silk-effect lining with a gold foil crest and the words MADE IN ENGLAND. Footwear and travel accessories consist of assorted wooden shoe trees, including one bearing a JAMES ALLAN label, three pairs of gauntlet-style leather gloves with shearling linings, and five hip flasks in leather and wicker casings. The group also features a portable hand-cranked sewing machine on a wooden base, wooden trouser presses with floral marquetry inlay, and various small leather wallets and pouches.
