Sold for: £5
A pair of wall hanging items comprising a framed print and an oval mirror. The print is a reproduction of the Renaissance portrait ‘Young Man Holding a Roundel’ by Sandro Botticelli, depicting a youth with shoulder-length reddish hair in a black tunic, holding a circular medallion of a saint. The work is presented behind glass with a wide red mat and a white-painted wooden frame. The second item is an oval wall mirror featuring a wide, figured wood frame, possibly mahogany or walnut, with a dark-stained finish and a decorative rope-twist inner border. The mirror glass shows some surface dust and minor foxing, while the frames exhibit light scuffs and wear consistent with age. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on either piece.
Condition report:
The framed print exhibits minor scuffs and wear to the white-painted wooden frame (photo 1). The oval mirror shows surface dust and minor foxing to the glass, with light abrasions to the dark-stained finish of the wooden frame (photo 2). Both items appear structurally sound with no visible cracks or major losses.
