A two piece collection of elephant themed wall decorations comprising a large metal sculpture and a carved wooden relief panel. The metal sculpture depicts a three-dimensional, stylised elephant head constructed from welded and pierced metal plates, finished with a dark brown textured patina and elongated tapering tusks. The construction features decorative irregular openwork slits throughout the ears and trunk. The second piece is a relief-carved wooden panel depicting a procession of three elephants in profile, joined by their trunks and tails. The wood is finished in a dark stain with recessed areas highlighting white and red pigments in decorative floral and geometric patterns, consistent with Southeast Asian folk art styles. No signatures, maker marks, or labels are visible on either component.
Condition report:
The metal sculpture shows irregular weld points and surface oxidation consistent with its handcrafted construction (photo 1). The wooden panel exhibits minor surface scuffs and small losses to the polychrome painted details on the decorative blankets and trunks (photo 3). Both items are otherwise in good decorative condition.
