A collection of vintage style industrial storage drawers, likely originally utilised for archival or retail purposes. The units are constructed from a stiffened board or wooden core, finished in a textured matte black material. Each drawer front is fitted with a polished metal pull handle that incorporates a label holder. The collection features various handwritten and printed paper labels inserted into these holders or adhered directly to the drawer fronts. Visible labels include handwritten numeric ranges such as 1081-1126, 304-320, 191-23, and 127-190, alongside one drawer containing a printed label reading ROYAL MAIL. One drawer front is marked with a label reading VOL 60 118. The units are modular in design and are shown stacked in a sectional arrangement. This lot comprises the storage drawers only.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of heavy use and wear consistent with a storage environment. There is significant scuffing, peeling, and loss to the black finish, particularly at the corners and edges of the drawer fronts and frames as visible in photo 1 and 2. Several metal handles show surface oxidation, pitting, and general tarnishing (photo 1). Surface dirt and dust are present throughout the lot. Several drawers are missing their original paper labels, and some existing labels are torn or detached (photo 2).
