A circular religious pendant crafted from 9ct yellow gold, depicting St Christopher. The obverse features a traditional relief scene of the saint carrying the Christ child across a river while supporting himself with a staff. The reverse of the pendant is flat with a fine textured finish and bears several stamped marks. These include the maker’s initials WJP in a rectangular cartouche, alongside a sequence of British hallmarks: a crown, the finality numbers 375, and an anchor symbol. The anchor indicates the piece was hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office. The pendant is fitted with a simple circular suspension loop and an additional small jump ring.
The pendant measures approximately 13mm in diameter, excluding the suspension loop.
Weight: 1.46g.
Condition report:
The pendant is in good condition with light surface scratches and minor signs of wear consistent with use (photos 2 and 3). The relief detail on the obverse remains well-defined. The hallmarks and maker\'s mark on the reverse are clear and fully legible (photo 3).
