A yellow metal dress ring featuring a centrally set oval tiger’s eye quartz cabochon, displaying characteristic golden-brown chatoyancy. The stone is secured within a rub-over setting, further embellished by a twisted wirework border and an outer scalloped decorative frame. The ring is constructed with split-shoulders that taper into a solid polished band. The interior of the band bears British hallmarks including a maker’s mark ‘S.P’, a crown gold standard mark, ‘375’ indicating 9ct gold fineness, a leopard’s head for the London Assay Office, and the date letter ‘r’. The total weight of the ring is 3.89 grams.
Condition report:
The ring is in good vintage condition with surface wear and fine scratches to the gold setting and band consistent with age and regular use. The hallmarks are legible though they show some rubbing. The tiger\'s eye cabochon is secure in the setting and appears free from significant chips or cracks.
