Sold for: £28
This lot comprises a single yellow metal ring featuring a central rectangular step-cut green gemstone. The gemstone, consistent in appearance with a green tourmaline or peridot, is held in a four-prong claw setting. The ring is constructed with a slender split-shoulder band that merges into a single shank. There are no visible hallmarks, fineness marks, or maker’s marks on the interior or exterior of the metalwork to confirm the gold purity or the identity of the stone. The ring weighs 1.38 grams as measured on a digital scale. The design and cut of the stone are characteristic of jewellery from the mid-to-late 20th century.
Condition report:
The ring is in good used condition. The gemstone shows minor abrasions to the facet edges and junctions, consistent with regular wear. The yellow metal shank exhibits light surface scratching and minor tarnishing throughout. The four-prong setting appears secure and intact. As the ring lacks hallmarks, the metal purity and gemstone identification have not been professionally tested.
