A large wall mirror featuring a wide rectangular frame with high-relief decoration. The frame is constructed with a dense foliate and berry design in a traditional style, finished in a patinated bronzed-gold tone with brighter gilt-effect highlights on the raised surfaces. The reverse of the mirror shows a wooden frame structure housing a recessed MDF or hardboard backing panel. The mirror plate is clear and rectangular. Two metal D-ring hangers are fitted to the reverse for horizontal mounting. No manufacturer marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the front or the reverse of the piece.
Width: Approximately 45 inches (approx. 114 cm)
Height: Approximately 33 inches (approx. 84 cm)
Frame Depth: Approximately 3 inches (approx. 7.5 cm).
Condition report:
The mirror and frame appear to be in good overall condition. The mirror plate shows no visible signs of foxing, silvering loss, or clouding (photos 1 and 2). The ornate frame retains its finish well, with only minor surface scuffs consistent with handling visible along the outer edges (photo 3). The reverse backing and hanging hardware are intact and secure (photo 4).
