Start price: £20

Estimated price: £20 - £30

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £34

A collection of silver and silver toned jewellery featuring a variety of vintage styles and forms. The group includes a pendant necklace with a wirework cobweb design suspended from a fine link chain; the reverse of the central disc is stamped with the numerical purity mark 925. A large filigree brooch is fashioned as a four-petal flower with an integrated safety-pin-style fastening. Also included is a brown, satin-lined jewellery presentation box bearing the printed retailer information JEWELLERS G. F. Truscott Ltd. OPTICIANS BIDEFORD. TEL. 95. This case contains several items including a brooch shaped as a Venetian gondola, a bar brooch with rose-coloured foliate motifs, a simple stick pin with a horseshoe terminal, and a bar brooch set with a single blue cabochon stone. The foliate bar brooch is marked to the reverse with an impressed rectangular stamp reading S BROS, followed by three circular hallmarks; while the central mark appears to be a lion passant, the others are not clearly legible. The collection displays varying degrees of surface tarnish and oxidation consistent with age.

Condition report:

The collection shows visible surface tarnish and oxidation across all pieces, particularly notable on the cobweb pendant (photo 3) and the filigree flower brooch (photo 1). The foliate bar brooch shows wear to the rose-toned finish on the leaf motifs (photo 2). The presentation box shows light scuffing to the exterior and minor discolouration to the interior satin lining (photo 1). All fastenings appear intact, though the pin on the blue stone brooch appears slightly bent (photo 1).
