A pair of 10×50 Porro prism binoculars featuring a Zenith example and a Miranda example, each supplied with a protective carrying case. The first instrument features a metal body with a black pebble-grain synthetic covering and is marked on the left shoulder plate with the Zenith brand name, High Quality, and Triple Tested. The right shoulder plate is marked 10 X 50 and Field 5 degrees. It is housed in a hard-shell black synthetic case with a button-snap closure. The second instrument features a finer-textured black synthetic covering and is marked on the left shoulder plate with the Miranda name. The right shoulder plate carries the markings 10 x 50, Coated Optics, Wide Angle, and 122 mts at 1000 mts. This second pair includes a black and yellow woven neck strap and is housed in a rectangular black synthetic case with a silver-tone metal clasp. Both instruments are fitted with plastic eyecups and removable objective lens caps.
Condition report:
Both pairs of binoculars show minor surface wear to the synthetic body coverings consistent with age and use (photos 1 and 2). The objective lens caps are present for both instruments. The Zenith case shows light scuffing to the exterior (photo 1). The Miranda case and clasp appear functional with minor signs of handling. Optical clarity and mechanical functions, including central focus wheels and dioptre adjustments, have not been tested.
