A collection of elephant figurines and novelty toys spanning various materials including plastic, PVC, cast resin, and embellished textiles. The lot includes a diverse range of styles, from realistic animal figures to anthropomorphic circus-themed characters. Notable items include a large grey elephant with a removable howdah, an articulated mammoth, and two bright blue novelty elephant figures, one of which is solar-powered and holds a guitar. The group also features a set of small circus musicians in colourful outfits and several Indian style textile elephants decorated with sequins and metallic threads. A brown rock-effect plastic base is present, featuring a yellow printed inscription that reads ANIMOTION The Power Of Animal Motion!. Several realistic PVC figures are included, some of which appear to be in the style of Safari Ltd or similar educational toy manufacturers. One item is partially contained within its original cardboard and plastic packaging. This lot comprises the elephant figures and the Animotion base only; the wooden shelving shown in the images is not included.
Condition report:
The collection is in varied condition. The large articulated mammoth and the elephant with howdah appear largely complete, though the howdah is missing its original rider (photo 1). Several realistic PVC figures show minor paint loss and rubbing to the extremities, particularly the tusks and trunks (photo 1, 5). The Indian style textile elephants show some fraying to the metallic threads and loose sequins (photo 2). The mechanical and electronic items, including the Animotion base and the solar-powered figure, are untested for working function. A small loss is visible to the trunk of one small grey figure (photo 2). The clear acrylic figures show some light surface scratching (photo 3). The items are generally dusty and would benefit from cleaning.
