A framed colour print depicting a tonalist winter landscape by Gerald Coulson. The scene features a row of tall, bare trees silhouetted against a misty, atmospheric yellow-grey sky. A single figure of a man wearing a dark coat and hat is shown walking along a path to the right, while a dog is positioned in the lower-left field. The foreground contains dark, brushy ground interspersed with patches of white snow. A signature is applied vertically in the lower-left corner, reading COULSON in white block characters. The print is housed in a dark wood-effect frame featuring a thin gilt inner lip and is set behind glass.
Condition report:
The print and frame appear to be in stable condition. There is a small amount of dust and debris visible trapped between the glass and the print surface (photo 1). Significant reflective glare from overhead fluorescent lighting is present on the glass surface in the photographs, which is a result of the lighting conditions during photography and not a defect of the item itself. No damage to the frame or print surface is visible.
