A collection of assorted metalware and decorative objects primarily of brass and copper construction. This lot comprises a carriage-style mantel clock, a hammered copper kettle on a wrought metal stand, a pair of decorative bookends, and several brass and white metal vessels. The clock features a rectangular brass-toned metal case with decorative foliate scroll engraving to the front pillars, four decorative finials, and a swinging top handle. The white dial has a chapter ring with Roman numerals and blackened filigree hands, marked Avia Comete and Swiss below the centre, with West German Case printed to the lower right. The copper kettle is of hand-hammered construction and sits upon a scrolled wrought metal stand with an integrated spirit burner. Also included is a pair of cast metal bookends featuring inset enamel panels depicting a stag in a forest setting, two silver-toned metal goblets with twisted stems, a footed brass bowl with lion-mask ring handles, a small brass dish embossed Jubilee Year 1935 Plymouth, a brass candlestick, and a wooden hexagonal pot with inlaid metal floral motifs. The lot is completed by a small floral decorated box containing a souvenir set of cards marked Interlaken.

Condition report:

The Avia Comete clock shows surface tarnishing and light oxidation to the brass casing (photo 4). The copper kettle has a significant dent to the side and the associated stand and burner exhibit heavy oxidation and verdigris (photo 1). The bookends show pitting and wear to the metal frames with some dulling to the enamel surfaces (photo 2). General heavy patination, surface oxidation, and tarnish are visible across all brass and metal items (photos 1 and 3). The wooden pot shows light surface scratches (photo 2). The internal clock movement is untested.
