Sold for: £7
A collection of resin elephant figurines and one novelty clock, comprising various studies of African elephants in naturalistic poses. The lot includes larger groupings and individual figures finished in a range of tones including ivory-coloured, dark bronzed, verdigris, and naturalistic grey-brown effects to simulate elephant hide and terrain. Most pieces are mounted on dark-stained polished wooden plinths. The novelty clock features a battery-operated quartz movement with a white dial, Roman numerals, and a gold-tone bezel, set within a resin sculpture of climbing young elephants. A small gold-coloured adhesive label is visible on the base of one trumpeting elephant figure, which reads The Leonardo Collection. Another small gold label is present on the base of a smaller figurine, though the text on this label is not legible.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good used condition. There is visible dust and surface debris accumulated in the textured crevices of the resin across multiple pieces (photo 1). No major breaks or repairs are evident to the trunks or tusks, which remain intact on the majority of the figures shown in the overview images (photos 2 and 4). The mechanical functionality of the quartz clock movement is untested.
