Estimated price: £14 - £30

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £7

A collection of vintage costume jewellery necklaces comprising a diverse variety of styles and materials. The assortment features numerous strands of beads, including faceted art glass, milk glass, molded Lucite, and various resins in graduated and uniform shapes. Several necklaces are constructed with wooden beads, including one multi-strand example with a large central wooden pendant and white geometric acrylic drops suspended from leather-style cords. The collection also includes a strand of dark, textured beads possibly made of lava stone or volcanic rock, and multiple strands of faux pearls in various shades including white, cream, and salmon pink. Metal components consist of base metal chains and clasps in gold-tone and silver-tone finishes. Included in the lot are two generic presentation boxes: a yellow box containing a double-strand salmon-coloured faux pearl necklace and a white box containing a textured black bead necklace. No legible maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the pieces or packaging.

Condition report:

The collection is in mixed vintage condition with several strands heavily tangled together (photo 1). Visible wear to the nacre and surface rubbing is present on several faux pearl strands (photo 1). Some metal components, including clasps and spacers, show signs of tarnishing and oxidation (photo 3). One strand of pink beads appears to be incomplete or missing a clasp (photo 1). Several necklaces show signs of weakened stringing or loose threads consistent with age.
